បើតាមអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិ ៖ «មនុស្សចាស់តែងមានតួនាទីយ៉ាងសំខាន់ជានិច្ចនៅក្នុងសង្គមយើង ក្នុងនាមជាអ្នកដឹកនាំ អាណាព្យាបាល និងអ្នកថែរក្សាវប្បធម៌ប្រពៃណី។ ដោយសារប្រព័ន្ធសុខាភិបាលកាន់តែរីកចម្រើនឡើង ចំនួនប្រជាជនដែលជាមនុស្សចាស់ក៏កើនឡើងដែរ។ ដូចនេះតម្រូវផ្សេងៗ និងការរួមចំណែករបស់ពួកគាត់ចំពោះពិភពលោកក៏កាន់តែមានច្រើនផងដែរ។»
ទិវាមនុស្សចាស់អន្តរជាតិគឺជាឱកាសមួយដើម្បីសបញ្ជាក់អំពីនវានុវត្តន៍នានាដែលមនុស្សចាស់បានចូលរួមចំណែកនៅក្នុងសង្គមយើង។ តោះ! ចូលរួមអបអរ និងបង្ហាញពីការគោរពដល់មនុស្សចាស់គ្រប់ៗរូប នៅក្នុងសហគមន៍យើង!

According to the United Nations:
“Older people have always played a significant role in society as leaders, caretakers and custodians of tradition. As health care improves, the population of older people is growing. Their needs are also growing, as are their contributions to the world.”
