Dear Parents/Guardians,
Paragon ISC is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its community members. Therefore, we would like to keep you informed regarding recent concern around a new coronavirus named Wuhan 2019 nCoV.
Specific details concerning the nature of this illness are still being researched. However, the symptoms of the disease are similar to Influenza (Flu), which are the following:
- high fever
- cough
- sore throat
- tiredness
If your child has any of these symptoms, consider keeping them home for an extra day of rest and observation. Often when a child awakens with vague complaints (the way colds and flu begin) it is wise to observe your child at home for an hour or two before deciding whether or not to bring them to school. Keeping a sick child at home will minimise the spread of infections and viruses in the classroom, and help your child’s recovery.
To help prevent illness, teach your children good hygiene habits, including:
Wash hands frequently
Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth
Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, use a paper tissue, throw it away and then wash hands
Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Further information regarding this virus can be found on the World Health Organization website(https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus). There have not been any confirmed cases of this virus within Cambodia. Still, it is important to raise awareness of everyone.
Thank you in advance for helping make this year at school as healthy as possible.
