Paragon ISC continues to believe that without help from supportive parents, students cannot realise their full potential. We are grateful to all the parents who managed to participate in our parenting seminar this month as a way of celebrating the World Dyslexia Awareness Month despite their busy schedules. Dyslexia is a disorder that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters and other symbols, but it does not affect children’s general intelligence.
The seminar focused on ‘Learning Differences’, which our participants found most relevant and informative. Some parents were able to raise concerns about their children’s reading and writing difficulties. Our presenter Ms Naima, however, encouraged them in their practice as a key to help kids improve in such areas although they had yet to develop the symptoms of dyslexia.
Our post-event survey showed highly positive responses from the parents, and they were very interested to learn more about other learning disabilities in our next seminar.
