His Excellency Dr. Hang Choun Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport presided the inauguration of 2 school renovations, namely Toul Snor Primary School and Tropang Chouk Primary School on the 14th of June, 2017. The renovations of these schools and gifts to students from both schools were made possible by donations from students, parents, and staffs from Zaman International School via Mekong Dialogue Institute.
H.E. Dr. Hang Choun Naron complimented Zaman International School, whose outstanding students have competed and won in many educational competition, both nationally and internationally – a trait in which students from other schools should learn from. H.E. stated in his speech that highly qualified human resource is important for the country development and students should try their best to obtain knowledge, skills, life lessons and have a good attitude in order to be a good citizen.
H.E. stated that the renovations of schools in the outskirts of Phnom Penh are in response to the citizen’s demand as more and more people are moving to the suburbs. With the donations from students, parents, and staff of Zaman International School, Mekong Dialogue Institute was able to connect water supply to the school and provide: 6 bathrooms, renovation of 3 buildings, 2 libraries, 6 water filters, 16 bookshelves, 2 computers, 2 printers, 400 textbooks and storybooks, 800 stationery kits – each kit consisted of 2 pencils, 2 pens, 1 eraser, 1 ruler 1 box of colored pencils and 2 notebooks.
