Once again, Cambodia showcased its skills and talents by being the first global winner of Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. This year’s challenge was designing a system or service that can utilize and/ or store energy but does not directly produce electricity, and eventually, make that idea into a feasible working business model. It was successfully done online for 12 straight hours.
The group is comprised of eight members in which three of them are senior students at Zaman International School- So Oudum Try, Puthina Keang and Sopheavatey Peov. They were carefully selected and interviewed before preparing for the competition for about a month.
Team Cambodia had created a business model called “Phos2Light” which could light up cities, tourism areas, or residential areas by using Eco-light- a light energy taken from trees. The judges were astonished by the students’ innovative creation and chose their project as the winner.
The victors received a trophy and certificates during the award ceremony on June 26 at CJCC with the participation of government officials, Japanese representatives, the school principal and teachers, university lecturers, businessmen as mentors and the students’ coach.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to those 3 amazing senior students who showcased the skills and abilities learnt at Zaman International School throughout the school years. We are proud of you!
